Last month, Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels appointed Carol Cutter to serve as the lead regulator of Indiana's insurance industry. Commissioner Cutter has spent more than 30 years in the insurance industry, with experience in both the Property/Casualty and Life/Health segments. Most recently, Cutter served as the Indiana Department of Insurance's Chief Deputy for Health and Legislative Affairs, where her responsibilities included the Indiana Long Term Care Partnership Program, supervision of the SHIP Director and oversight of the Department's policy analysts for all product lines. Cutter also represented the Department in its legislative affairs with the Indiana General Assembly. In her new role as Commissioner, Cutter intends to focus on insurance education through an awareness campaign aimed at increasing consumer understanding of insurance products and services.
