CMA proposes to refer Cardtronics' purchase of rival ATM provider DCP
The CMA has announced that it is proposing to refer Cardtronics' purchase of rival ATM provider DCP for a detailed phase 2 merger investigation, unless suitable undertakings are offered. The CMA is concerned that, in those local areas where there is insufficient competition from rival ATMs, the merger could lead to increased surcharge fees for customers withdrawing cash. Click here.
European Commission accepts commitments from Amazon on e-books
The European Commission has accepted commitments offered by Amazon to address the Commission's preliminary competition concerns relating to a number of most-favoured-nation clauses in Amazon's distribution agreements with e-book publishers in Europe. Click here.
