Charlie McCreevy has spoken on:

  • latest developments on a policy response to financial turmoil: he explained what Commission initiatives will propose over the next few months; and
  • cross-border supervision of banking and insurance groups: he talked about proposals for group supervision under Solvency II, and the support for colleges of supervisors, which the Commission plans to build into the CRD.

Meglena Kuneva, the Consumer Commissioner, also spoke on consumer concerns about European financial services.
