In a recent notification, the German Federal Government provided guidance on how arrangements for a deceased individual’s digital inheritance should be handled prior to their death. The Government suggested that the individual should write a will containing the login details of their email accounts and other Internet services. The will should also include the persons entitled to have access to the personal data and confirm whether the data should be used or deleted. Presently, there is no clear legislation on digital inheritance in Germany. 04-24-digitaler-nachlass.html
