There’s a trend happening across the country involving Stop Work Laws. Arizona, California, Nevada and other states have enacted Stop Work Laws which give a contractor or subcontractor the ability to stop work on a construction project because of the owner’s violation of its statutory duties and not be liable for any damages the owner may sustain because of the stopped work – regardless of what the contract says.

He spent 10 years as general counsel and a corporate officer for large national and global construction companies that executed over $10 billion in projects. He was responsible for all legal and risk management aspects of day-to-day business operations. He’s part of the firm’s national Construction and Energy Litigation Practice.
