Recently, the Illinois General Assembly passed a Joint Resolution (SJ0035) supporting the provisions of the proposed Employee Free Choice Act, which would authorize the National Labor Relations Board to certify a union as the employee bargaining representative when a majority of the employees voluntarily sign authorization cards designating the union to represent them. Copies of the joint resolution, endorsing the Employee Free Choice Act, were sent to the United States Senate Majority Leader, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and to each member of the Illinois Congressional delegation.
