The Government has launched a consultation on the draft legislation and rules for the personal accounts scheme, which is likely to come into force in 2012. Under the scheme employers will be required to automatically enrol employees into either a personal account scheme or their own qualifying scheme. There will be mandatory employer contributions. The consultation closes on 20 July 2009. For more information about personal accounts and the impact they will have on existing occupational pension schemes, see the Pensions Extra bulletin, prepared by our pensions team.

"Lexology is a good barometer of a firm's expertise as the articles showcase a firm's understanding of the issues involved and how up to date their knowledge is. It's a good one stop solution where one is able to view the same law/cases from different perspectives; on the whole I would rate Lexology as a good service."
