The Commission is consulting on interest rate restrictions as part of its mortgage market work. A study has identified the different types of interest rate restriction that apply, and which Member States apply them and why. It also looks at the effects of the restrictions on various market participants. It now wants views on the results of the study and the analysis and on whether any action at EU level is necessary. It wants comments by 22 March 2011. (Source: Consultation Document on the Study on Interest Rate Restrictions in the EU)
