On April 25, 2019, Commissioner Shen Changyu from China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) stated that the examination period of patents and trademarks will be further accelerated to make China the quickest country granting IP rights. For detailed, the examination period of patents will be shortened to 16 months within 4 years from now; and the examination period of trademarks will be shortened to 4 months by the year of 2020.
