Due to the unequal power between the government and citizens with regard to information collection, citizens usually need more time to collect evidence or documentation to exercise their right to claim against the government.  The Legislative Yuan recently amended Article 131 of the Administrative Procedures Act, extending the statute of limitation of a citizen’s claim against the government based on public law to 10 year from 5 years, effective immediately.  The statute of limitation for the government to claim against citizens based on public law remains 5 years.
