BCBS postpones decision on Basel III framework revision

A BCBS press release states that its oversight body, the Group of Central Bank Governors and Heads of Supervision (GHOS), has postponed a meeting to endorse the reforms to the Basel III framework, sometimes known as Basel IV.BCBS states that more time is needed to finalise some work on the reforms, including the final calibration of the framework, and that it intends to complete the work "in the near future".

ECB consultation paper on revision of Regulation on oversight requirements for systemically important payment systems

The ECB has published a consultation paper on the revision of the Regulation on oversight requirements for systemically important payment systems, known as the SIPS Regulation. Four payment systems fall under the Regulation: TARGET2, EURO1, STEP2-T and CORE(FR). The provisions stipulate that the general application of the Regulation is reviewed every two years and amended if needed, an accompanying press release has also been issued. The consultation closes 20 February 2017.

FCA extends expiry date of confirmed BCOBS industry guidance to 31 December 2017

The FCA has updated its webpage on confirmed industry guidance in relation to the guidance on the Banking Conduct of Business sourcebook (BCOBS). The webpage states that the expiry date for the FCA's confirmation of this guidance is now 31 December 2017, extended from 31 December 2016

EBA requests European Commission to revise deadlines for CRD IV technical standards

The EBA has published a letter requesting the European Commission revise the deadlines for the submission of certain draft technical standards required under the CRD IV Directive (2013/36/EU) and the Capital Requirements Regulation (Regulation 575/2013) (CRR).
