The Bank of England (BOE) has published its statistical release ‘Money and Credit’ for March 2015.
Key points include:
- UK broad money, M4 excluding intermediate other financial corporations (OFCs), increased by £7.2 billion in March, compared to the average monthly increase of £5.9 billion over the previous six months;
- households’ holdings of M4 increased by £2.3 billion in March, compared to the average monthly increase of £3.2 billion over the previous six months;
- the number of loan approvals for house purchase was 61,341 in March, compared to the average of 60,303 over the previous six months; and
- total lending to individuals increased by £3.1 billion in March, compared to the average monthly increase of £2.5 billion over the previous six months.
