FSA has varied the permission of Aaron Nickels trading as Warwick Finance. It considers the firm breached Principles 1, 6 and 11 by dishonestly:
- calling customers to query the suitability of products and providers to persuade them to change or take out new policies;
- taking customers' bank details and using them to buy policies without customers' knowledge; and
- claiming to call from HBOS and using high-pressure sales techniques.
Moreover, Mr Nickels did not disclose the involvement in the business of his father, who is subject to bankruptcy proceedings, and over whose role FSA has concerns. FSA's action has removed all the firm's permissions
