On 10 October the DWP initiated limited consultation on the success of the cross-border regulations in implementing the EU directive (2003/41) on which they are based. In particular, the consultation focused on the efficiency of the authorisation and approval procedure; and also on the extent to which UK schemes have undertaken cross-border activity. The DWP intends to compare the UK approach with those adopted by other EU member states.

The consultation period ended on 4 December. The consultation paper can be found here.
