The Bill was introduced to the Victorian Parliament on 24 June 2014.  The Bill proposes to amend the Disability Act 2006 (Vic) by enabling residents detained in residential treatment facilities or committed to custody in a residential treatment facility, to be electronically monitored in certain circumstances.  The Bill aims to provide additional security and limit incidences of absconding through electronic monitoring.  The Bill is currently before the Legislative Assembly.
