The Government has confirmed that it will not amend the Agency Workers Regulations 2010 before they come into force in October 2011. The Government has reportedly been unable to reach agreement with the CBI and TUC on amendments to the Regulations, and was in any case largely constrained in the extent to which it could radically alter them, given the terms of the European Agency Workers Directive. The Regulations will, therefore, come into force in their current form. BIS will publish detailed guidance on the Regulations early in 2011. For a reminder of what the Regulations will mean for employers, see our previous E-Bulletin.
