The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) published a consultation in July.  It proposes a reform of consumer law relating to the supply of goods, services and, in particular, apps, computer games, software, music, electronic books and films where delivered digitally.

In brief, the proposal is to enhance protection afforded to consumers purchasing digital goods and services online (as opposed to in-store or by way of physical product). This has implications for further remedies for consumers and businesses operating in the digital environment are encouraged to respond. Please contact Pitmans if you would like further advice or support in responding to the consultation which ends on 5 October 2012.
