Mr Justice Underhill (the outgoing President of the Employment Tribunals) is undertaking a fundamental review of the Employment Tribunal Rules of Procedure and the proposals contained in the government’s Resolving Workplace Disputes document, including:

  • giving the employment judges the power to strike out claims at a Case Management Discussion;
  • facilitating settlements by amending the form of the ET1 to include a schedule of loss; and
  • introducing legal officers to undertake routine interlocutory work in place of Employment Judges.
