On April 11, 2017, Ministerial Agreement Number 23-2017 of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare was published in the Official Gazette, which approved the "Manual for the Creation, Organization and Operation of the Bipartite Health and Occupational Safety Committees".
This Agreement is in force since April 12 of this year and is applicable to all work carried out on behalf of an employer, whatever its nature and the place where the work is performed. This technical regulation establishes, among others, the following aspects:
- Guidelines for the creation, organization and operation of the Bipartite Health and Occupational Safety Committees to ensure all employees in any workplace, with an emphasis on those who are most vulnerable to hazardous processes, health conditions, safety and well-being in an adequate work environment and conducive to the full exercise of their physical and mental faculties.
- Creation of the Committee, its integration, organization, members and responsibilities.
- Obligations and formalities of the Committee's Book of Minutes.
- Types of Committees: a) Bipartite Committee on Occupational Health and Safety; and b) Bipartite Committee of Occupational Health and Safety for Corporations and State Institutions.
