FSA has fined David Baker, the former deputy chief executive of Northern Rock, £540,000 and banned him from performing any function in relation to any regulated activity. It fined Richard Barclay, its former managing credit director, £140,000 and banned him from performing any significant influence function. FSA found Mr Baker did not escalate information that nearly 2,000 loans which were in arrears did not appear in mortgage arrears figures in 2007 and he agreed action which meant they would not be reported. He also made external statements about the figures which were misleading. Mr Barclay was responsible for providing accurate management information but did not ensure his unit's information was accurate.
