The U.S. Supreme Court begins its 2011-2012 term next week. Among other decisions, the high court is likely to rule on the constitutionality of the healthcare reform law. Specifically, the Supreme Court will likely review the decision by the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals that a key provision of the law - the individual mandate that all must have health insurance or pay a fine - is unconstitutional. On September 28, the Obama Administration filed a petition requesting such a review.
In the coming weeks, our Public Policy and Government Relations Department will continue to monitor these and other federal issues of importance, and will bring you relevant and timely updates as new developments occur.
