As most of you know, ISS recently changed its governance rating service from "GRId" to "QuickScore." More importantly, however, as Broc Blogged this morning, ISS began giving all companies free access to ISS' free data verification site beginning yesterday, January 28. Effective now, companies can review the data ISS has collected on their ISS Governance QuickScore factors. This is a no-brainer. Every company should double check the information and data ISS has for it - now, while there is no cost to do so and there is time to correct the information.
Companies that submit data requests prior to February 8 will receive feedback from ISS no later than February 15. ISS promises to still assess any submissions made after February 8 and take them into consideration for the company's QuickScore. However, for those later submissions, ISS will not provide feedback to the company until after ISS Governance QuickScore is launched in late February/early March. The data verification site will close on February 15 and will remain closed until product launch. After product launch, companies will again be able to log-in and verify their data.
ISS published Governance QuickScore earlier this month, with 281 questions and answers it is a quantitatively-driven data solution designed to identify governance risk within portfolio companies.
