The ACCC and the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China (MOFCOM) have signed a memorandum of understanding to facilitate information sharing in relation to regulating mergers that affect Australian and Chinese markets.  MOFCOM is responsible for merger regulation and is one of three bodies administering China’s Anti-Monopoly Law.

The ACCC and MOFCOM will still be subject to the usual confidentiality and privacy requirements that apply to each of them.
