• On December 27, 2018, the housing passport was introduced in Flanders. The housing passport is a digital passport for a residential building which brings together various information relating to the building, the land and its environment (soil certificate, asbestos certificate, permit, PEB, information on the renovation work carried out, etc.) (see also our previous e-zine of January 4, 2019 , and the e-flashes of July 1, 2021 , February 15, 2022 and August 4, 2022 );
  • Since then, the functionalities of the housing passport have been extended:
    • possibility for each owner to add all the (renovation) works he carries out in his property (including all relevant documentation and supporting documents, e.g. quotes, invoices, plans, photos, etc.) ;
    • the housing passport provides a timetable which clearly indicates the date by which the works must be carried out following the obligation to renovate residential buildings (link only available in Dutch);
    • automatic registration of asbestos certificates for a dwelling (or for the common areas of an apartment building);
    • in spring 2023, the “ groenblauwpeil ” will be integrated into the housing passport. The groenblauwpeil (link only available in Dutch) is a purely informative indicator of the climate resilience of a dwelling (e.g. biodiversity and cooling (green aspects), harvesting and use of rainwater (green aspects) bruises), etc.);
  • The housing passport is accessible on www.woningpas.vlaanderen.be and the connection can be made by electronic identity card or by "Itsme";
  • By the end of 2023, the legislative legislator also wishes to extend the residential passport to a "building" passport (link only available in Dutch) for all non-residential buildings.
