On 19 December the Commission adopted the regulatory and implementing technical standards that the European Supervisory Authorities prepared for the Regulation on OTC derivatives, central counterparties and trade repositories (EMIR). The Commission has endorsed these measures without amendment. The European Council and the European Parliament can object to the regulatory technical standards within one month. Following this period the measures will be published in the Official Journal and, 20 days after publication, enter into force. The implementing technical standards do not require scrutiny by the co-legislators and will be published immediately, although the timing of their entry into force will coincide with that of the regulatory technical standards.
