Ratification of the Hague Agreement for industrial designs has been completed by the UK in Geneva on 13 March 2018. The Agreement will come into effect in the UK in three months’ time, meaning that businesses will have greater choice through the option of applying for international design protection in the UK.

The UK will be joining the 67 states that are currently part of the Hague Agreement which provides the benefit of being able to obtain design protection in up to 82 countries through a single application.
