The Department for Business Innovation and Skills has published the final guidance on the Agency Workers Regulations 2010.  The guidance has no legal force but is aimed at clarifying how the Regulations will apply in practice.  The Regulations come into force on 1 October 2011 providing opportunity for employers, hirers and suppliers to ensure they are compliant before then.  In short, temporary staff will have the same rights to pay, benefits, rest periods and holidays as ordinary permanent workers as long as the temporary worker has been engaged for at least 12 consecutive weeks. as well as certain rights from day one.  For a copy of the guidance please click here.
