FSA has fined Rockingham Independent Limited £35,000 and partially banned two of its directors and one adviser for selling unregulated collective investment schemes (UCIS) and structured products where the sale may have been unsuitable. The firm did not understand the restrictions on promotion and advising on UCIS and gave misleading information about a pension drawdown product. FSA banned Stephen Hunt and Gary Forster from holding any significant influence function or the CF30 customer function and Jonathan Edwards from holding the CF30 customer function relating to any regulated activity promoting or recommending UCIS. It also banned Mr Edwards from performing compliance oversight in any regulated firm. The firm has stopped selling UCIS and structured products and is conducting a review to work out whether any customers should have redress. FSA levied a similar fine and ban on Ian Jones of Specialist Solutions Public Limited Company. (Source: FSA Fines For Unsuitable UCIS Sales  and Final Notice on UCIS Ban)
