Two of the world’s largest electric utilities, Duke Energy and China-Huaneng Group, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that will allow them to share information and research pertaining to clean coal and renewable energy sources. As part of the agreement, executives from North Carolina-based Duke Energy and Beijing-based China-Huaneng Group will meet in the coming months to discuss their ongoing efforts to develop clean coal technologies, including carbon capture and sequestration, and wind energy, among other renewable energy sources. The MOU includes the option of developing joint projects down the road.
