The deadline to lodge your 2016 Export Market Development Grant (EMDG) claim is quickly approaching, with Austrade not accepting applications after February 28.

If you missed out on self-lodging an application, you can still lodge via an Austrade approved consultant – such as Griffith Hack.

Don’t leave lodging your claim until the last minute if you want to maximise your grant. Get in touch now to allow sufficient time to identify every eligible EMDG expense.

If you are a first time lodger, remember that your first application covers two financial years (1 July 2014 to 30 June 2016), so gathering the source documentation can take some time. All the more reason to get in contact with us now so that you don’t miss out on this generous grant program.

Haven’t heard of the EMDG program? What does it cover?

The program currently applies to businesses with income of $50 million or less, which have incurred at least $15,000 of eligible EMDG expenditure. The grant reimburses 50 per cent of eligible expenditure above the first $5,000 of expenses.

There are nine cost categories that are eligible to be claimed under the EMDG program. These include the costs associated with overseas marketing trips, attendance at trade shows, and registering patents or trademarks overseas. Further information is outlined in here.
