  • On October 13, 2007, the European Commission was informed by the Danish veterinary authorities of an outbreak of bluetongue in sheep in Denmark, in a sheep herd near Sakskøbing on the island of Lolland (south of Zealand). The outbreak has been confirmed on the basis of laboratory tests with positive results to antibody ELISA and PCR (RAPID, October 15, 2007) 
  • The European Commission has added four names to the register of protected designations of origin and protected geographical indications (RAPID, October 15, 2007)
