The Fiscal Year 2012 EPA-Interior Department spending legislation was approved by the House Appropriations Committee on a 28-18 party line vote, but not before the GOP tacked even more amendments onto the already rider-heavy bill and knocked down Democratsʼ attempts to remove some of the most controversial language. If this bill is a sign of the Republicansʼ legislative strategy, FY2012 spending measures will likely be packed full of symbolic provisions and have virtually zero chance of becoming law.
