FSA has fined a mortgage broker £17,500 for breaches of Principles 2 and 9 and various MCOB rules. It found the firm exposed over 80 customers to the risk of being sold an unsuitable self-certified mortgage because for over two years it did not get or record the right information from customers. Also, it did not carry out appropriate checks on a third party introducer.
