On May 6, 2009, USCIS announced that it had revised the Form I-914, Application for T Nonimmigrant Status. Additionally, USCIS set June 6, 2009, as the final date that it will accept previous editions of the Form I-914.
The T Nonimmigrant Status provides temporary immigration benefits to aliens who are victims of severe forms of trafficking in persons, and to their immediate family members, as appropriate. USCIS determined that the revision was necessary as the existing form no longer reflected relevant statutory changes, which had previously been implemented. USCIS has suggested that additional revisions to Form I-914 may be required in the future due to more recent statutory changes that have yet to be reflected in the form.
