AL2013-034, Bio-Medical Applications of Alabama, Inc., d/b/a Fresenius Medical Care Birmingham Metro, Birmingham, AL: Proposes to construct and operate a 13-station ESRD facility consisting of four hemodialysis stations relocated from RCG-Princeton, eight new hemodialysis stations, and one isolation station. This project was postponed from the 7/17/2013 board meeting at the request of the applicant's attorney. Opposition: None
- AL2013-048, Evercare Hospice, Inc., Birmingham, AL: Proposes to establish a new 10-bed inpatient hospice facility by leasing 10 skilled nursing home beds from St. Martin's in the Pines. The facility will be located on the campus of St. Martin's in an empty space in St. Martin's original nursing home. Opposition: None Approved
AL2013-055, Gadsden Regional Medical Center, LLC, Gadsden, AL: Proposes to relocate and operate eight inpatient psychiatric beds from Cooper Green Mercy Health Services pursuant to a purchase agreement. The closing of the purchase transaction is contingent upon the receipt of the necessary approvals from SHPDA. If approved, Gadsden Regional Medical Center will voluntarily relinquish eight acute care beds so that the total licensed beds of 346 will remain the same. Opposition: None
