FCA has updated its webpages on the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD) in respect of passporting. It confirms the passport is available to UK firms wishing to use it throughout the EU, but cannot be used to passport into Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein until the AIFMD has been brought within the scope of the European Economic Area (EEA) agreement. Similarly, the EEA agreement also needs amending to bring within scope the Regulations on European Venture Capital and Social Entrepreneurship Funds (EUVeCas and EUSEFs).
