EPA has issued a final rule postponing the deadline for sources to report 2010 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions until September 30, 2011. 76 Fed. Reg. 14,812 (3/18/11). The original deadline was March 31, 2011, but the extension does not change requirements for future reporting—March 31 will be the deadline in future years. According to EPA, the deadline extension will allow time for electronic data-reporting system refinements, stakeholder testing of the reporting system and feedback to EPA. The rule is effective March 18, 2011.
