Firstly, it should be clarified that the National Justice Council (Conselho Nacional de Justiça in portuguese - CNJ) integrates the group of public institutions engaged with the National Strategy to Combat Corruption and Money Laundering (Estratégia Nacional de Combate à Corrupção e a Lavagem de Dinheiro in portuguese - Enccla).
The Enccla currently consists of nearly 100 agencies and entities. It was established in 2003 and is coordinated by the Justice National Office of the Ministry of Justice. It is a multidisciplinary environment of debate and strategic alignment of activities of the State in this theme.
For 2018, the CNJ established national targets to the Judiciary, including the Superior Court of Justice (STJ), the States Courts, Federal Courts and Military Justice of the Union and the States the prioritization of the processes related to corruption and misconduct of public civil act.
Among the initiatives of the CNJ in combating corruption is also the preparation of the Manual of Properties Seized, which aims, among other objectives, to assist judges in advance disposal of assets seized, impounded or arrested in actions to combat corruption and money laundering.
Sérgio Moro, future Minister of Justice and Public Security stated that, in 2019, will make the proposal for a structured bill on combating corruption, organized crime and violent crimes.
Last Monday, (26/11/2018), Moro announced the creation of the Secretariat for Integrated Police Operations, to articulate police actions between the Federal Government and the States. According to him, the idea of the Secretariat is to coordinate police operations nationwide, as there are many groups and criminal activities, which transcend State borders that often needs a national coordination.
Therefore, the actions to combat corruption are receiving a huge attention in Brazilian public institutions. In this context, is important that companies and managers are aware to the adoption of corporate integrity programs.
