Treasury proposes PSR designations: Treasury is proposing to designate, and bring within the scope of the Payment Systems Regulator (PSR), the following payment systems:

  • Bacs;
  • CHAPS;
  • Faster Payments;
  • LINK;
  • Cheque and Credit;
  • Northern Ireland Clearing;
  • Visa; and
  • MasterCard.

The consultation, which is open for comments until 11 November, sets out how Treasury has applied the four criteria in the Banking Reform Act 2013 when selecting the proposed designated payments systems. (Source: Designation of Payment Systems for Regulation by the PSR)
