The rainforest in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which is the world’s second largest after the Amazon, is also endangered by “uncontrolled logging.” This could irreversibly damage the world’s second lung…The World Bank admits that an environmental impact assessment “should have been prepared” and was not. The indigenous Pygmy community - - consisting of from 300,000 to 500,000 Pygmies who live in the rainforest - - complain that they were not consulted about the uncontrolled logging and that “their livelihoods are threatened.”…It’s hard to breathe with only one lung and will get harder…This is not a push for climate control - - only for the world to leave the rainforests alone and to convince everyone to plant a tree.
