As previously noted (see here), on 8 April 2014, the ACCC proposed to re-authorise an industry code of practice for face-to-face energy sales undertaken by electricity and gas retailers (Code).

On 6 June 2014, the ACCC issued its final determination, reauthorising the Code for five years.

The ACCC did not consider the restrictions on the conduct of members, sales agents and sub-agents to be a significant public detriment, and viewed the public benefits as improving levels of legal compliance and better informed consumers.
