A New York landfill operator has reportedly pleaded guilty in state court to dumping leftover debris from construction and demolition activities without a permit. New York v. Adinolfi, No. N/A (N.Y. Cnty. Ct., Putnam Cnty. guilty plea announced 10/25/12). The landfill operator was charged in November 2011 with several felony and misdemeanor counts for operating an illegal landfill at a residential property. Some of the fill material eroded and was discharged into the New York City watershed, according to court records. The operator faces a sentence of four months in jail, five years of probation and a $7,500 fine.
