The government is to revoke site waste management plans in England from 1 October 2013.

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has published the results of its consultation on revoking the Site Waste Management Plans Regulations 2008 (SI 2008/314) in England.  As widely expected, the results confirm the government's plan to revoke the regulations as part of its "Red Tape Challenge".  It will be interesting to see whether this challenge results in the revocation of any other pieces of construction legislation.
