The FTC recently announced that it will host a two-day international conference on "Securing Personal Data in the Global Economy." The conference is co-sponsored by the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

The conference will bring together regulators, policymakers, consumer advocates, industry representatives, technology experts and academics from around the globe to address best practices and legal requirements for businesses in data security, data breach responses and conflicts-of-law issues.

The conference, which is to be webcast, will take place in Washington, DC on March 16 and 17, 2009, at the FTC's satellite building. For more information, contact the FTC Office of International Affairs at 202.326.3158 or click here.
