When the requirement under the Companies Act 2006 for companies to have at least one director who is a "natural person" (as opposed to a company) came into force in October 2008, companies which had no natural persons on their board on 8 November 2006 were given a two-year grace period during which they did not need to comply with it. That grace period has now come to an end. Companies which took advantage of the transitional arrangement need to ensure that, as of today, they have at least one director who is a natural person.
