On December 12, the 2016 China Brand Value Evaluation Press Conference was held in Beijing by the China Council for Brand Development, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and China Appraisal Society. Over 800 people, including officials from state ministries, industry associations and companies, attended the meeting.
This is the fourth consecutive meeting. The debut in 2013 only included brands in manufacturing industry. The following two meetings in 2014 and 2015 were more inclusive with brands covering industries of 1st, 2nd and 3rd tiers, and four kinds of brands were released: corporate brands, product brands regional brands and self-innovative brands. This year’s meeting expanded its coverage to a new horizon and first published China Time-honored Brands. Tsingtao Brewery and DEEJ Pharmaceutical ranked the first and second with their brand values as RMB 35.787 billion and RMB 34.053 billion respectively.
This meeting released evaluations on 654 brands. Among them, ICBC, China Construction Bank, Bank of China, Kweichow Moutai, China Three Gorges Corporation, CRRC are valued over RMB 100 billion. And there are over 70 brands with values over 10 billion. Hangzhou’s Wahaha Group ranks the first in beverage brands with the brand value as RMB 53.386 billion. Hisense Group holds a safe lead in self-innovated brands, with the brand value as RMB 33.025 billion. Kweichow Moutai shows a strong presence in regional brands with Geographical Indications with the brand value as RMB 275.59 billion.
