On 19 October 2011, the Commission announced that it has settled its investigation into cartel activity by four cathode ray tube (“CRT”) glass producers. Asahi Glass, Nippon Glass and Schott AG have admitted liability and agreed to pay a total of €128,736,000 for operating an illegal cartel, whereas Samsung Corning Precision Materials was granted full immunity for being the first to provide information on the cartel to the Commission.
