The government is supporting a new service provided by Remploy Employment Services through Access to Work, which is expected to help 1,600 individuals suffering from mental health conditions to stay in employment. This new initiative will provide support lasting up to six months and it is hoped that this will create a more open and healthier workplace. The service will include counselling, personalised action plans, reasonable adjustments in the workplace and coping strategies.

The scheme goes some way in recognising the support those with mental health issues require and can only serve to create a more harmonious working environment for everyone.
