In this three-minute video version of Workplace Word, Snell & Wilmer partner Rebecca Winterscheidt discusses several new Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) rules that will affect federal contractors’ and subcontractors’ affirmative action programs. The new requirements become effective on March 24, 2014.
The OFCCP rules are designed to improve employment opportunities for protected veterans and qualified workers with disabilities. Status reporting requirements will change significantly, and new annual hiring benchmarks have been set for both groups. Companies may wish to evaluate their affirmative action plans and the infrastructures they have set up to collect and report data.
