A group of 28 Senators has sent a letter to the Senate Budget Committee urging against the use of the budget reconciliation process to fast track climate change legislation. The letter, signed by seven democrats, five of whom backed climate change legislation last year, argues that proper diligence should be given to such legislation. Part of the letter reads, “Legislation so far-reaching should be fully vetted and given appropriate time for debate, something the budget reconciliation process does not allow.”
